ok, if your 54? has ball joint instead of king pins. the spindles will work with a little modification. the bottom ball joint hole is to big. it will either need a thin shim put in the taperd hole, or grind/mill the bottom of the spindle off so the taperd pin gose up in far enough to tighten down properly. fist question is was it a big block car? if yes its a diffrent bolt pattern. its chevy truck pattern 5 on 5. the rearend might work if its the correct length. just have to cut the bat wings off and weld on spring perchs.
p.s. gear? wont know till you try it.

Ford didn't use ball joints until '54 so the Torino spindles wont work.
I think the rear is go to be to long for the '53.

I saw on eBay last night under "Ford y block" a 9" diff from a 1957, wasn't all that expensive for something, that, with a little work will slip straight in. The spring perches would need to be lined up to fit correctly. The diff was complete with brakes.

Is the wheel base the same width as the truck or close ? Do some measuring and if the width is really close , then just do a frame clip and there you go . I know guys use S10 frame clips a lot for the trucks but I am not sure about the width of a Torino .
