I recently scored two sets of TTs, one set of rears (15x8.5), one set of fronts(15x7). I searched and searched and I can't seem to find any way to sort of ID what year they may be from, other than some faded stamps. Also, the front pair is 15x7, and I kinda want to run a 5" wheel. Also the color between front and rear is different. If I buy a pair of new 5" VN309s, and miraculously manage to duplicate the color of the old rears, is the new design so much different it wont look right? They seem to be close from pics.
Also did Amerian Racing stamp dates on the inner spokes like this? I cant make out the dates but it looks like maybe '68 or '89? I cant imagine what appears to be an ink stamp surviving on the inside of a wheel since '68.

I had an original set on my last roadster, and ordered a new set for my current build. The biggest difference to me is the center flange around the lug nut holes…between the spokes…the edge of that flange has a really big radius compared to the originals, which was more flat. It doesn’t bother me too much but I think it would if I were mixing and matching with originals.
