is there any difference between the torque convertor used with th350's or 400's?
I was hoping to use the torque convertor from the 400 and use it with the th350

    thanks

I'm not sure, but you might be able to check part numbers in a summit catalog and see if they're the same

They are the same...mostly! there are lockup TH350s that use a different converter. There are switch pitch 400s that use a different converter.

so as long as you are comparing a normal 69-78 vintage TH350 and a 68-80ish TH400, yeah....they'll swap. At least I think so, it's also possible that the stock 400 converter won't fit the 350 bellhousing, because it's bigger, but I've never tried.

If you've got a stock 400 converter switch it for a 350 converter and you'll have a higher stall speed. Just a little known low buck ****** speed secret.
In the old days we switched converters for Vega converters for the same reason. the vega converters usuallly didn't last long if you were putting a gross amount of torque through them. they would balloon from the torque and a few exploded when the stator dropped off the bearings If you checked the end play on the stator frequently you'd know when it was about to go.

The mounting bolts are on a different Bolt Circle. Usually doesn't matter as MOST flexplates are dual bolt pattern. Keyword being MOST.
