sorry too late to pre reg.

we have already mailed out all that info to everyone and we are now getting everything ready to roll up to Farley tomorrow.

We will be in and out all week.........

here is the email I just sent out to a LOT of people - if you did not get one - here are the details:

Vintage Torque Fest is only a few days away!

For Vendors: If you have not received your packet of info - don't sweat it. Just show up on Friday as early as ya can and try selling your stuff to the hot rodders that are gonna be showing up from noon to 3pm. If you need anything special - EMAIL ME!

For feature cars - please let me know what your conditions were for arrival and if you needed tables for booth space, if you have a booth.

The Vintage Torque Fest staff will be on site from 9am til midnite on Friday.

For those that have pre registered - you should be getting your paperwork today or tomorrow.
Please note that Friday will be laid back and no real rules are being enforced.

Dennis Gage will be arriving on Friday and will be working on an upcoming episode of My Classic Car. Please don't bug him too much because he is working, not a paid celebrity there to be a guest.......
There will be a cruise on Friday evening at 5:00 pm.

Before this cruise out to the Field of Dreams we will have a meeting for volunteers and any other questions that you may have. We will have inspectors there to answer questions about qualifying cars, and hope to have someone from the Speedway present to field questions as well. They will have races that night so they may be quite busy as well. This meeting will take place around 4pm on Friday. We will need to start lining up for the car departure about 450pm.

Overall I really want to thank all the people that have already given support to the show and if I don't thank you publicly I hope you know that I will try to thank you personally. Right now though - everyone should know that if you see anyone walking around with Los Punk Rods on their jackets or shirts etc.............you should THANK THEM! If not for the financial support from this car club - this show would NOT have happened. So we ALL need to thank the Kansas City based Los Punk Rods for getting the ball rolling on this show. Many of you already know about the Greaserama. One of the midwest's best shows on Labor Day weekend. What many of you may not know is that they have hearts the size of Frankenstein's head. The Cheaters Car Club from Milwaukee have been supportive of this show from the git go as well. The have been giving advice, putting in a good word with Gage, helping spreading the word in a big way and we appreciate their support as well - Cheaterama in Aug is truly a site to behold. And lastly.......the Chrome Czars. I have pestered, hounded, cojoled, and begged them for information. Everytime they came through.......this is because they love tradtional hot rodding. For the support and sometimes outright stealing from you - I thank you. In case you did not know - the Hunnert Car Pile Up is put on by the Chrome Czars............so to have their input in this show is only going to help it in the long run. Also - we hope to see everyone at the 2nd Annual Hunnert Car Heads Up on May 8. I am sure to be there - it was a fun time last year and I am sure they will get even more cars out on the track this year! And Scary Larry - from the Jalopy Showdown - I know our show wont be as cool as yours........but that is the goal man....I hope that people here in Iowa can have HALF the fun we had at your show!
Other shows that you should support:
    Rust Revival
    Symco Shakedown
    Beatersville
    Scrap Drive
    Blacktop Barons Road Block
I will be away from all email and phones from Thursday to Monday.....so if you need something - let me know now.

Here are the directions to the show
    Farley Speedway
    Old Farley Road
    Farley, IA 52046
    (563) 744-3620

    To get there:
    HIGHWAY 20
    Exit 300
Head South on 1st St SW for .2 mile
Turn Right at the very first street
    This is Olde Farley Road
Travel 1/2 mile to stop sign - go straight.
Look for speedway on the right.

Thanks and look forward to seeing you at the show.

Yep looks like the rain will hold off. As of today weather.com says 40% chance for Friday and 20% for Saturday! Should be decent weather for a great event!

ScaryLarry - I did a radio interview today in Dubuque Iowa - they asked where this concept came from - I told them - Jalopy Showdown

givin props to ya baby - thanks again for all your help throughout this event!

I will be seeing you soon - I already have the airfare (got 2 roundtrip tix for UNDER $400!!! to Baltimore)

If people have not been to the Jalopy Showdown - this is a MUST attend event. I still dont get why people from New Jersey dont invade the show - guess if you have to travel more than 3 hours for anything on the east coast it is just too far huh?

Looking forward to seeing ya man.

    As for the rain -

let's just assume it is gonna rain........
let's just hope that it is not TOO much that the track is off limits.

If it is DOES rain too much on Sat - then we have the track on Sunday and we will get started bright and early on Sunday.

Insurance has stated that we must choose 1 day or the other......this means if 1 car goes out there on Saturday - and then the rain comes down for the rest of the day............then that is it - we can not go out on Sunday.

I wont be able to have access to the HAMB after Thursday but I may have some people that have those fancy phones post some stuff from the show.

And if there are any changes we will have them posted on here as well.

  15. Hope to see ya there John!

I'm STOKED! Cant wait. As Mr. Tillrock mentioned, plenty of killer artists and pinstripers (thanks for the mention, Ed!) so be sure and stop by and say hi! Don't forget the Art Show/Auction with killer painted surfers helmets by some of the coolest artsists on the planet. Looking forward to meeting everyone! BTW- Cool article by your sister, Ed! I'm from the Cedar Rapids area though, not Des Moines.

I just got of the phone with a guy coming all the way from Asheville NC. He wanted to see if he would be able to get in if he did not pre register.
So anyone out there that thinks they HAD to pre register - that is not the case -
The show is open to everyone that shows up.
The inspectors will determine who gets in to the Speedway.

So all you people over on the west side of Iowa who told me it was too far to come............
this cat is driving over 800 miles to come to the show!
    Wow.
    Seeya at the show!
