torque tube question

    getting ready to take a part torgue tube rear out of a 1948 chevy car.my question is there are 3 rivewts and 3 bolts with lock nuts.to remove the tube i thonk i need to drill out the rivets, and to remove the inner shaft i remove the 3 bolts i think . can someonr tell me if im in the right direction thanks

    Don't have to drill any rivets. Loosen the bolts with the locknuts.
    Can't remember if they release the tube or just let the pinion and
    shaft come out the back. Once you get to this point you'll see a
    pin holding the pinion on the driveshaft. Iirc,I just ground the head
    off the pin and drove it out with a drift. Hope that helps.
