My old man picked up a 62 Chrysler 300 hard top yesterday with the push*****on trans. The guy he bought it from said it ran awhile ago but not anymore. Got to messing with it and it will start of the shifter is in drive only. Where exactly is the neutral safety on a push*****on. Hopefully not internal like someone told me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Drivers side just above the trans oil pan, and three inches behind where the cable enters the trans. It looks like an electric oil pressure sending unit, threads into the case and has a single wire on it. The switch itself isn't internal, but is activated depending on the position of the shifter cable. You need to adjust the shift cable if it starts in drive.
