Torsion bar front end for A-Bone?

    I assume that the upper links are hiem jointed, are the ends of the torsion bar that is bolted into the birdcage also hiem jointed? (it seems to me that if one side of the axle moved upwards the twisiting action would be loaded straight through the torsion bar arms.)

    also what is the typical amount of useful movement that you are achieving with bars?

     
  2. Yessir.....Heim bearing in the forward end of the arm. The arm rotates around the torsion bar which forces the torsion bar to twist....resulting in suspension.

    Lots of vertical movement in a dirt track sprint car. It must deal with ruts, bumps, and extreme G-forces resulting from high-speed cornering.....much more than you would normally encounter in a street-driven vehicle.

    I was thinking about the inital twisting moment applied to the head of the arm...(boy i must have sounded really dumb...:p )
