So I have spent the last 2 years fighting tooth and nail to move to SoCal. Spent some time there in the NAVY and all my friends live there. So here I am about 72 hrs away from the drive and I am so Friggin' nervous I can't even sleep. Takin' the Family (wifr, daughter, dog) out there so there is alot more riding on this than if it was just me anyways I will shutup now.. See all you guys in San Diego in 3 days.........
I was born & raised in Belleville, Il.............been out here for 40 years and married a "native" Californian (rare breed). If you are still around Labor Day weekend come on up to the PrimerNationals!!!
doood, so cool. enjoy the adventure I am dreaming of doing this myself. I should be there next year in the same area.
i wouldn't be to worried about movin' down south. but brush up on your proactive driving skills, and eat lots of mexican food.
I just made the move from Texas, and SD is nice.. The car guys are cool as sh!t, Fosters Freeze is a must.. Prices of houses are falling fast, everywhere I look they are up for sale, I don't think it's as expensive as everybody says it is.. I'm not looking to stay here too long (wife is active duty). Overall if your here for the long haul, in a few more months the time to buy a house will be perfect... I'm in the process of moving into a house (renting) with a garage I can't wait..
Come on out, its a great place to live, its not as expensive as you would think unless you want to live on the ocean and even then if you buy a complete wreck of a house its not to bad. Make sure you rent for a little while and get a eel of the city before you decide to settle down anywhere permanent, and try not to live in PB if you can manage.
