Understand Jeff, you said truck had no brakes and mentioned the ebrake did not work.
Now you added some fluid, found brakes and wallah, you safely towed it home.
Your high horse just laid down

Sometimes the effort to do the simple involves more effort & trouble than its worth. The tow is manageable with a UHaul tow dolly and will cost lest than one bump into the tow vehicle. The doll will let the truck to be easyily maneuvered anywhere it needs to go with good control. No risk to straining anyone trying to move the truck.
There was no mention if the engine turned over as it would be a tricky engine braking with a frozen engine.

I work professionally in risk mitigation.

The projects that I manage are in the tens-of-millions, for companies in the tens to hundreds-of-billions. You don't get to do what I do by taking stupid unnecessary risks.

Nobody is forcing you to do anything in a safe manner, or to read my posts.

I am all for voluntary population reduction, as long as it doesn't involve innocent bystanders.

You just showed up with 2 off-topic cars... a TR6 and a Volkswagen. And you're being ****y with somebody who's been a contributing member for over a decade.
I VERY strongly suggest you turn off your judgmenter and go bark up a different tree until you've contributed at least 1/10 as much and gain some understanding.

Hold it. It might not make a lot of difference, but I didn't realize that @jeff westbrook is the OP of this thread. I thought he just popped in out of the blue and started spouting off without even having anything invested. I was mistaken. Jeff, I think maybe you have more right to talk back to somebody who you feel is being negative... on your thread... than I was wanting to allow.
I still don't like to see a new guy too quick to bad mouth a long-standing member such as @gimpyshotrods when I don't think he was being negative so much as simply giving another viewpoint. A level-headed viewpoint. Not a **** wad as you say. That's not nice either.
When you come here asking for advice, it's not all going to be what you wanted or expected to hear.

He's en***led to his opinion, and a right to voice it that the government, anyways, cannot interfere with.

That's what freedom and liberty are all about.

Of course, this board is not owned by, or run by the government, so the moderators are free to do as they please.

And then, a mere 63 minutes later...........

The "signing out for good" didn't last for very long.
And I don't think we have chased away a newbie. He seems like he will **** in his own nest around here before too long if he doesn't tuck that at***ude in a bit. I have attached the mandatory form for him..................

I figured to quote you one more time to keep things in perspective.
You came asking about rope towing a truck that had no brakes.
I think on the first page of this thread, it was suggested to add brake fluid.
Apparently you took that suggestion and ran with it. It’s quite obvious you didn’t come up with the idea or you would have been asking “Anyone rope tow a truck with working brakes”?
Then we filled the thread with talk a****st ourselves, yet you came back all triumphant and added “didn’t burst into flames”.
Come on back when you need an original thought.

The important thing is that you asked a question and people did try to help with your problem. Yep, not all the answers were helpful, but we all get some of that. Shrug it off and glean whatever might help you.......There are some good people here with a fair amount of knowledge.
Glad you got the truck moved with no problem. That looks like an excellent truck. :)

  23. use a car dolly and move it that way

  24. the ****hurt report lol.

Something as a young person I learned really quick, when someone has more experience, snap to it quick and listen, or they wont give any more advice,

Yep, sweet truck and well said.

Hey, that Star Spangled Banner video in your tag line brought tears to my eyes, seriously. Maybe they can figure out how to teach that in school these days. Thanks for that.

And he thinks a few guys were hard on him, he wouldn't have made it past the first post years ago.

I read every post and I see some light hearted joking and that happens every day. at this point all we can say is -

Kinda my point Danny, no one was on his *** about it, most/all we’re arguing/etc at each other. Yet after the tow was done, he took it as it was all directed at him.
Young and dumb, older at not learned? I dunno, somewhere in the middle;)
