Hey all, yesterday saw that our local Tower (and all of them I ***ume) is closing for good. Guess the new owners are just liquidating all the ***ets.
Totally ****s, because they are the only ones around here that carry Rolls and Pleats, Smokin' Shutdown, etc. Went in yesterday and picked up some mags at 30% off. So git while the gittin' is good folks!

Yup, they are gone. ****s too, every time I went to Memphis I'd go there just to raid their selection of litle mags. Oh well.

I remember when the local "Wherehouse" went out and they had a "20% off sale" and then "50% off" and their prices were STILL higher than the local Target and Circuit City!

    Same thing with Tower.

They were at one time big enough to be a "discount record store" but never discounted enough to be compe***ive.
I can understand not discounting the obscure ***les and movies they sold, the only reason I ever went there to find some old album or video, but they should have had compe***ive or even better prices on new releases just to get the consumer in the door.

    And the cashiers...
I think they were all Bi-polar, friendly "flower-child love everyone" one minute and surly ""Hell d-ya want?" at***udes the next.
What works in Hollyweird just doesnt cut it in Soccermomville I guess.

Yep, Tower was the place I bought a lot of my car magazines.

It's nice to just be able to walk in and get something off the shelf.

I guess I'll have to plan ahead and order from The Hot Rod Company more often.
