    Great thread!

I've always loved Mickey Thompson's Bantam...one flathead (carbed), one blown Hemi!

You probably know this already but you are going to have to weld up the side of the carb to log tubes or else you will get a vacuum leak at the base of the log. Eaiser to do it now then later. I would go with silicon/bronze and not only up the tube but around the bottom of the base for support. Otherwise lookin good!

I'm gonna have to keep up with Carl:D Tonight I started on the intake flanges with 1/4" x 2 1/2" Steel Plate and transfered the holes from an intake gasket......

Drilled out the pilots and checked the fit..............
You can see the corners of the intake ports thru the holes........

My first 2 runner tubes came out a little short but no problem, more where that came from. The material is 3" x 2" by about .065 wall and I don't plan on dividing the runners at this time, much like the old Crietz intakes. If it's a problem I can add a divider in the runners later..........

My plan is to have all the piece ready by next week for Carl's Logs, it'll be nice to have carbs that the engines can run on for a while.

Is Carl's Logs a trademarked name? That is going to look cool. American ingenuity the way it used to be, not out of a catalog.

I picked up some more 1/4" x 2 1/2" Flat Bar and used an 1 3/4" Hole saw and got the flanges made for the inside hedders. It's tight and I'm glad I didn't guess at putting the engines any closer...............

But we have 8 UP and 8 OUT finally..........

Damn, Rocky...you nailed it on those stacks and the log intakes kick ass. Really looking forward to seeing the car at Eagle Field. Have you come up with a name for it yet? Perhaps a "Name that car" contest?:p

Did you leave any room for exhaust gaskets or are you going with hi-temp silicone?

What type of rear crank seal are you running on the opposite rotation engine? The reason I ask is I rebuilt a marine 327 about 30 years ago and we had to make sure we had the correct seal in it. I believe it had directional ribs in it to help keep oil in the crankcase. 'Course that was 30 years ago and those memories are kinda foggy... :D

That's a good point, but I haven't had the engine down further than the cam and heads. I'll check when I pull them down.

Good job, Rocky! I wondered how tight that was gonna be....I remember Ivo's twin Buicks had to run two pipes DOWN, to get it all in there. This build is making me plumb GIDDY!!!!! I'm foaming at the mouth, here!!!
