Been trying to get to the Twin (have the intakes, carbs and fuel rails mounted) but been busy at work and spent all day yesterday moving block for Eagle Field. I'll get some photos up tonight of the intakes. I still plan on having the engines running for the event!

HaHaHa, mine will be pushed will yours have the keys in it:D

    Thank You!

As promoised I shot some photos last night and made up my throttle arms do to (lack of) finances. I also added a couple of photos of my friend John del Real's (he flags the finish line at Eagle Field) new Eagle Field C/Gas Dragster that he plans on having ready by October. Rocky

Started off with a piece of 1/2" plate Lee had laying around that I put in our Chop Saw using a Carbide Tipped wood blade:eek:

Then after Drilling, Filing, Sanding and threading I had these.

Here's were we are now, much to do just to get it running for Eagle Field but we have 2 weeks:rolleyes:

All I've done here is bend the tubing to a design I've had and John has put the pieces together. He has a 318 Mopar ready to install and is pretty excited!

Using a chop saw to cut aluminum is nothing new (that's what they use to cut those aluminum I-beam type levels to length with), I used to do that alot, and if the piece of aluminum is big enough (like a peice of aluminum 1/2" thick) I used a wood joiner to smooth the edges if the part was too awkward, and or two big to put in a milling machine.

toymaker, educate me on the motor placement in your chassis. Way back in post #32 there are three figures of FEDs and based on the "body" or cage style, the motor is "way back" slightly forward and mid-line. Obviously the weight on the wheels changes with the motor's location. With the two motor setup, you have substantial weight over a +/- 3ft. range and a few inches one way or the other must certainly affect the cars weight distribution and thus traction. Are you looking for a specific weight ratio front to back? It seems as if every time you add more motor parts, exhaust manifolds etc you are changing the balance? Or does HP over come these issues? It doesnt seem productive to first build a car then add weight here and there to overcome balance problems - just more poundage to lug down the strip.

FINALLY getting some time to work on the TWIN, Finished the Hedders, Throttle Linkage and wired the RH engine. Pretty basic Stuff, hope to fire it this weekend at the Dos Palos Car Show. I'll get back to posting photos soon and you'll be the first to know when I Start it!

The engine placement was decided by my Tranny length and as far as being an "Educated" build all I can say is it isn't. I tell people I'm living in 1959 and I don't know any better:D when asked why or how. I'm not trying to set any records, I'm just having fun building the Twin with hopes of it providing some entertaining runs at Eagle Field.

HaHaHa, Are you coupling the engines with a double row chain like we talked about? Keep us posted! Rocky

Hey, I'm new at this so forgive the 'better late than never' post. I've got a pair of 327's from a '64 Chris Craft that might work in your project. Complete from valve covers to pan. One is reverse rotation. They are supposed to be "running when removed" which means they're probably needing rebuild. Anyway, if you can use any or part let me know. I'm in San Jose.

  20. there ya go Roc, a four engine dragster!!!!!!!!!!!!!, extend the chassis a little a coupla chain drives and you are off...........................
if two is good four must be a blast

Even though its the car that gave him the most noteriaty-- He absolutly HATED the 4-engine car. His final run in the car broke his back when he hit a bump and the shock compressed a couple of vertibre.
