That's what I would do except I would get Louie to give him 1 day to get the money. Then the next day, if I were Louie ,I wouldn't go next day I would go 2nd day. (so his buddys aren't there waiting for Louie to return) regardless of how you do it GET YOUR CAR! NOW!

Don't need to read any more - this is the right plan. Underline "with the ability to remove your car" - seriously. He doesn't respect you so you should not trust him to do good work on your car. Construction laws will work for you on a lien if required but better to get him to pay up. The probability of getting paid drop by 50% with every month.

Man this is such bad news....as a matter of fact a friend of mine had a verbal contract to purchase a business, then when the paperwork came along their price was 10 large over what he'd agreed to, and then it was just his word against theirs...man if you get anything out of this guy I'll be impressed...but wwhatever you do get your car out ASAP...

Now that I think about it, I'm certain this guy has been down this road before...18 months later, this is ancient history...spend $150 and send a lawyer letter if you want...

    OR

What I'd do is take him to small claims court...wait for it...and pay the sheriff $20 to serve him the summons. You'll never win without documentation unless he admits to it, and if he does good luck collecting...but it has got to be unsettling to have the Sheriff come to your place of business in front of god, customers, and everybody and serve you with papers. It's cheap and fun :)

But seriously write this one off man, hard as that is.
