Is it always the way? When you want a "tri-5" truck they cost a fortune. Even builders are just over or under $5K as long as those metal termites didn't eat too much. The when you find a running project (not really a driver but not far from it) the price nearly doubles. Totally finished in a popular color and driveline the norm is $25K and up. Now when YOU have one to sell everyone says it's a worthless pile of **** and "...don't really sell well..." except the auction results tell a different tale. Trucks are now and seem to always be HOT. Cruise all the venues like carsonline, here, C'list, Hemmings, gather up at least 10 "sold" versions and run an average based on the prices you see. What's against you is that it's got the potential to be a really kool truck but it's not done. As mentioned already, the tank in the bed looks like "...so we can go for a ride..." vs proper engineering. Even the stock tank behind the seat would be better. Whatever realistic price you come up with you should deduct 10% for the fact it's a GMC rather than the real thing. You need to move the truck up a notch or 2 to get more interest. And that 58? I threw up in my mouth a little. There's no ****in way in hell that car will ever top the potential value of that truck. It's a "settled for" car because someone couldn't afford or find an Impala. I've been told a 59 Chevy 4dr sedan is worth more than my Model A pickup. A singlefinger salute was my response. And before you or anyone else asks I've been screwin around with this **** for over 40yrs so I'm not just expelling flatulence.
thanks for the honesty, I actually went to see the car, not a bad looking car but it looked a lot better in pics, lots of bondo underneath the door, quarters and bottom of fenders, nice car nonetheless nice driver I was tempted but in the end just could not trade it, guy was going to throw a 98 Jimmy (4 door) not running (ignition issues) with the deal, tempting because it only had 98k miles on the engine and my daily is a 00 Silverado with the 4.3 same as the Jimmy., again thanks for all the replies, I guess I'm stock with my truck its going to sit in my garage until a better trade comes along.. or someone buys it..
I agree with you completely on the gas tank, it was a quick fix and cheaper way to go since we had it already, it was to be temporary until we find a better solution, truck will sell , I'm not in doubt of that..just don't want it to sit to long .. thanks by the way..
Wheels and a new gas tank your truck will sell I myself have seen your truck as I have been in the market and will not settle for anything less then what I want but I do believe the rite set of wheels will set that truck off and you will sell it fast , trucks are hot and I mean hot rite now......
