Not long ago I traded my pro street Austin A-40 for this 40 ford pickup. Hated to see the Austin go, but really was not my taste exactly. Found this pickup on the HAMB and badda bing a trade was made. I've been sitting on it for a few weeks trying to decide what to do, sell, finish or ?? But after much thought I plan to finish it on out, make a few changes etc. Paint is a bit orange peely, but is fairly thick and fresh so should buff out, plus got a gallon with it. Plans call for my shop logo on doors and gate, red glass, spiders and rings. Firewall and dash will be a cream color along with wheels, adding heat, possibly air?? It needs a good detail on chassis due to over spray etc, but a CO HAMBer built the chassis and did a great job. The cab is actually a 42-7 so I will have to go back and fill the filler neck and a few other items need attention. But I plan to drive her in this week and get started on my new shop truck!! It is a 350/350 stang II 8" rear etc.
Looks like my old truck. I traded it to a friend in Co for a 32 5w project. It was a roadster pu at the time,He put the regular cab on and traded it for a model A pickupout of IL. Hope ypu get it done!!!
For a '40 Ford man that's a good trade your happy and the other guys happy. Seems your VW guy, is that right? CRUISER
I just finished my 40 Pickup shop truck and I'm loving it, 7000 miles on it sense Sept. I'm doing the door logo and pin strips when I put it away for the winter, I don't think the snow is far off! Nice truck, enjoy it.
Yep, just finishing my daughters lowered 71 bug, I also have a lowered resto mod 67 and just brought home a 57 oval today.
Nice trade. My very first old car purchase was a 40 Ford standard coupe when I was 16 circa 1977 for $600.
