I was tired of hotrods...... Customs are more my thing......I've always wanted to be more like Lee Pratt when I grew up.....and I found my chance........we'll be making the swap at the Roundup........ Thanks to Dan Collins and BenD for making it happen........

I'm more of a hit rid guy. I have a driver kustom now but also a hot rid project that will be financed by said kustom's sale. Cool cars, though. Good luck with the deal!

Man, I'm thinking the same way you have, I have a hot rod, but I've been wanting a taildragger for a while now. I'm more of a cruiser than a speed demon. So I've been looking at 40-41 Mercs and Fords and they've been haunting me more and more.

I got the Buick at Big Al's garage today. there was some killer rust in the trunk where the rear fenders mated to the body. we're also gonna fit the fender skirts, figure out a way to attach some real shocks to the rear end, relocate the gas filler to inside the trunk, french the headlights and remove some trim, and move both bumpers down and in a bit. next week we switch to 12 volts and alternator and get new exhaust....... I'll try to get pics tomorrow........
all the board that was in the trunk was water damaged and not usable, but i did keep it for patterns. we realized when taking the back seat out that it hadnt ever been out before. there was not a bit of rust in the floorboards! were also going to adapt the old hollywood flipper caps to the Buick wheels.
The plan is to keep it running with the stock 248 straight eight and original drivetrain. not too fast but it don't smoke at all, has great oil pressure, and runs cool. I want to drive her up to salina for the KKOA leadsled show........
Danny has been making some changes to the T coupe as well..... maybe he'll post some pics too.......................

Love the Buick. Good move. Chicks love customs more too. With the back seat in that Buick, you should score big time at the drive in.

Hey Dennis do you remember when Lee Pratt drove into the Spectacular in his Buick?
I could not get away from it. The guys that I went up with thought that it was just
too wild. It was love at first site. His Buick played an important part to get me into
Kustoms. I heard that you were doing some trading, but I didn't realize it was a fast
back. Very kool project !! I Kan't wait to see your version.

Was in St Paul at the Street Rod Nats in 79(? ), I was 10 at the time. Of all the rods at the show, Lee`s 41 Buick was one of my top 5 picks at the show. It was the first time I`d seen a car with hydraulics. Maybe it was a strong influence for puttin them on my car. Where did it go after Terry Cook had it. Where is it now.
