Traditional Hot Rod collectibles?

  1. Looking for a gift for my dad , anybody know of any traditional hot rod toys/models etc. kind of off the beaten path stuff?

    if you do a search on ebay under...vintage toys..or anything like that...youll be there for hours on end~! i cant even look anymore..my wife was ready to leave me!:D
    but hey, while were here....anyone have a pic of said roadster????:eek:

    I always thought the Peter Vincent B&W prints of some neat cars out at B-ville were kinda cool. I think Motorobooks has them on sale. I believe they are somewhat limited to their printed run.

  9. How old is your Dad? I'd get on Ebay & buy him a toy from his era - something he might remember.

    Cast iron from the '20's/'30's or pressed steel from the '40's/'50's.

    Collectibles is a term that really is meaningless in this day and time. Nothing marked or called collectible, or collectable, and made in the last 20 or so years really is what the term suggests.
    Production quantities of 1-2 million kind of let the steam out of the "rarity" term and "unusual" too.
    What you like, or he likes, should be the guiding light here not collectability or rarity, unless you're talking about things produced in the 60s and prior, more likely the 40s and prior, to be more accurate.
