Darrol Finger's channelled 34 coupe. Darrol was a member of Southern Hot club, Melbourne. Car ran a 1956 315 cube Poly Dodge mated to a Jag 4 speed and with a home-made 4 carb manifold. He also had a tunnel ram style one which he ran at the drags. Was one of the top Aussie hot rods in the early 60's.

  15. The one with the landau top in the background is in the hands of the original builder/owners son who restored it back to the version seen in the video.

    early Cagle-Herbert Cam Special FED

    Hello,

We were fortunate to see the progression of the later model of that ch***is plus the addition of the top mounted 671 on the motor. The ***le was now the Herbert Cam Special, Torco Special and/or Cagle/Herbert Special.

The yellow FED with Gary Cagle driving was one of the most memorable race cars/race car drivers during our era of drag racing. The record books provide the history.

The latest real, original sound of Gary Cagle’s 180 mph FED in action. Thanks Troy…

Sound... Gary Cagle Torco Special yellow FED

  28. Umm, I don’t mean to be rude but @40ragtopdown accidentally posted the wrong picture. What is in picture is a tri-5 T- bird funny car as opposed to an AMBR winning roadster.

There have been 75 AMBR winners but Bill NieKamp was the very first, and the style he put into the car is timeless.

Thanks for the correction, I had clicked on the wrong thread for my quote.
