Yes , it was against the rules .
That is my friend , Doug Robinson , pushing his AA/FD at Fontana .
To " win " your round , you had to complete the run .
In this case , the other driver " Red Lighted " , & Doug broke on the starting line .
He had to push his car , unassisted , to the finish line to get the win .
That rule was eliminated after an incident at Riverside , when two drivers both broke & had to push
their cars to the finish to determine who won . One of them passed out from the heat.
One of those drivers was Danny Ongais , & don't remember who the other was .
