Holy Crap, I guess not. A rear end explosion would be nearly unsurvivable.

That's not "family jewels" engineering bad. It's "colostomy bag for life" engineering bad... or death. Every failure mode that immediately comes to mind is targeted directly at critical organs. Yikes!

 

This is my new desktop. My youngest boy walks by as I'm looking at it. He says, "That guy's gonna catch him." I shot beer out of my nose. Great picture.

 

.... and it looks like a live axle, so if it breaks off of the torque tube there is nothing to keep everything that's left from rotating at the same speed as the tires until the car stops. I hope the tech guys sent him home with some strong words about why. Everything between his knee caps and his eyeballs is in jeopardy.

 

Hey blues4u it was a nicson 2x2 intake I got at a yard sale for a hundred bucks.sold it a couple years later for 1200 bucks.i did good but kinda regret selling it.oh well...

 

I like the tire / wheel combo on this one! And the side pipe and the car and the add on the trailer hahah [emoji108][emoji108][emoji108]

I think the trailer is the beginning of the mobile Shift Doctor Hurst used to bring to drags and repair shifters in the pits.

 

OH YEA!!! That was what the pits looked like at our local dirt track when I was a kid! They ran 2 classes, Stock, and Modified, up until about 65 or 66 before they went to the "late models".
The image of 30 of those old coupes and sedans starting the feature, coming off #4 turn to get the green flag, and flying down the front straight and into corner #1 is forever burned into my head. It always amazed my how often all 30 cars managed to get through that 1st turn without wrecking, but it was really exciting when they didn't.
My dad's friend used to race the coupes, I remember we went to the races Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights many of the weeks through the summer. Our track local raced Sunday nights, we never missed those. Gene
