  1. The kid on the far left looks sad, like he was left out of the fun.

Romeo Palamides is standing next to Miss Oakland, he won America’s Best Competition Car that year with his Chrysler powered dragster.

If your wanting to do a 55-6 Crown or any other model as a custom… that’s the right grille/bumper combo that’s the best of all time to me… many different stainless and choices for rear tail lights but that grille and Packard tails will always get looks..

    Hello,

Macarthur Park in central Los Angeles was a fun place to go. When the Rainbow Pier on the Long Beach shoreline closed its power boat rental concession, the only place to be able to ride a self steer powerboat was the Macarthur Park Lake in Los Angeles.

While it lasted, the Long Beach Rainbow Pier enclosed smooth lake was perfect for using those power boat cruisers for a cruise around the lagoon. No ocean waves to contend with since the lagoon was enclosed by the circular pier.

Our dad used to take the whole family to the Los Angeles Macarthur Lake to allow us to steer our own power boats around the lake. It was cool as we actually steered the boats without our dad or mom in the boat, after we qualified driving with them in each of our boats. It was a blast. There was a speed limiter on the motors and we could move, but not in a full speed blast.

The concessionaire saw us with our parents in the boats, so when it was time to drive by ourselves, he knew we could handle the boat without running into the shoreline or dock. My brother and I always had a boat each with my mom and me in one boat. That way, I could drive and steer and she would just supervise quietly while we zipped all over the lake. It was the best…

The location of the downtown lake and scenery makes for a great background. The old pandemic TV series, “L.A.’s Finest” uses the background a lot and makes Los Angeles look rather nice, instead of congested and busy.

Yup, and looks like Bobby Rydell with her. Might be from the movie "Bye Bye Birdie"?

  28. MacArthur Park... it looks like someone left the cake out on the rain and I don't think that I can take it.

Jimmy I think the best looking grille for a 1956 Ford is the one it came with from the factory.
