    Jack Bayer used to tune my 61 Monza at Bill Bader Chevrolet in Fontana. About that time he was piloting the Bayer & Freitas (sp?) dual-engined Chevy dragster that I was told was made out of the Money Olds that Lefty Mudersbach (my hero!) had chassied.

    That thing was so squirrely it was impossible to make a full pass so one night at Fontana they were put back down into Middle Eliminator. I don't remember if they won the category or not, but the rule was changed to not allow dual-engined dragsters in Middle.

    Anyway, that's what I remember, and that's suspect any more.

    I didn't know Jack was a driver, he made some serious horsepower in some stock class Chevys, with FI 283's and 409's ![​IMG]
