Ok I did a bunch of searches and didn't really come up with anything. I am going for a late 50's to early 60's style. I don't really want to use a mini van seat. I have thought about making a seat but I was just wondering if there was a seat that would have been used in a channeled unchopped coupe?
    Thanks,
    Jackson

Thanks Keith that is a good thread but it is all about modern seats. I am trying to figure out what was being used back then.

my coupe was built back then and remained untouched til i got it,it is channeled and unchopped, the seats were early 60's mustang seats. However they didnt leave much headroom for a 6 footer, i couldn t see out of the windshield if i sat up straight. I needed my *** right on the floor to work, so made one from a school bus seat.

Early sports car seats were considered cool in the day. MG, Healy, Jag, Corvette.
Bucket seats were the hot ticket through most of that decade. In a channeled car buckets usually work out easier.

  6. I made mine, channeled-unchopped.

Early VW bug seats were fairly common in cars of the sixties. For a channeled car you would need to remove the lower frames and set them right on the floor. You could even ues the later high back buckets by cutting the loop off where the high back is and welding in a staight section. Comfy too!

Lots of them were home made, a piece of plywood for a bottom and back, foam glued to them, and upholstered. Bolting a seat ***embly into an A can mean taking up precious space, they knew that 60 years ago already.
