  4. Ted isn't a great fan of everybody been able to see all the diff and associated rod arms etc. that can be seen from behind so made the louvered panel to hide everything on his T.. It also allowed him to use those larger lights as Ted enjoys driving his car and was his daily driver for many years.

This is Ted Browns first T. Many call Ted the Grandfather of the T Bucket movement. [IMG]

This is Ted's last T . A little less conventional in the rear, but how many other T's have been driven over 250,000 miles !!!!!

One thing I really like on T-buckets is chrome tailgate hinges...

  6. George you right on the chrome hinges and Gary, your car is simply perfect from all angles. JW

    Thanks JW.

Chip has been getting the ugly out of his T for a couple of months. I've been working on getting the ugly out of mine for 30+ years.

I've been considering them on my car, but I have a really hard time putting something on my car that isn't functional. I do agree that they do look great, but it might be another of those separation between steel and glass cars in my mind. I mean, my mind thinks "my car I glass, the tailgate doesn't drop, why use them"? Make any sense?

Absolutely, and I was thinking the same thing when I posted it. I like the chains with the sewn covers that match the upholstery too, but again, the tailgate should actually work, or its seems kinda silly.

    Chip;

I 'spose you could look at the chrome hinges & chains w/covers as a 2-for-1. Gets closer the "the Look", & adds a little weight to the back the the T, which is almost non-existent now... :D . Sorry, I couldn't resist... :D .

True, very true! The problem with that idea is that I LOVE chrome tailgate hinges with a series of lightening holes drilled in them... That would almost be going backwards!

  13. The other side of the coin with none functioning hinges is putting them on none functioning pickup boxes. They just look right. JW :)

  14. Gary, about your rear shocks,i think the angle is spot on and aesthetically pleasing as they sit between the vertical line of the tire and the lower slope of the spring. JW

  15. I kinda like fake hinges and chains.

Ya, please don't take my statement about hinges as a condemnation of them, I think they look awesome!

I'm with you. Makes sense to me. If you have fiberglass don't pretend it's steel by adding unnecessary stuff that just junks it up. In the '60s fiberglass Ts took on a cleaner look from behind.

I can dig it, doesnt have to be HAMB friendly to be bitchin...

  22. Got a real "T" firewall and grille shell, both complete with hood lacing, guess it's kinda fake too; but the finned coil and the chrome master cyl on the firewall are real.

That is why the "Traditionally Styled" forum was created:

It indeed is 2013 "new HAMB Traditionally Styled" friendly,
It is not not pre-2013 "old school Traditional HAMB" friendly.

Think of it this way: On one side of the tracks you get your ass kicked, on the other side of the tracks you don't, but you have to park next to a "touring edition" PT Cruiser or a "sedan delivery" HHR.

AAAAAARRRRRRHHHHGGGGGG!!!! Not P.T. Cruisers!!! Especially not red!!!

Okay, I'm almost better now. What youi might not know is I have had two hot rods taken out by P.T.Cruisers in the last coupla years... I swear it's payback for all the abuses as rental cars I dealt out ten years ago...:D

Is there a build thread on this? If not, there needs to be.
