WOW I had no idea of that fact!!! Neat to know! Some amazing T-buckets in this thread...I almost bought one when I was 16...always regretted not snagging it.

And "MINDOVER", that would be me building the roadster.

Come on lets see more! I'm sure you can take better pictures than that. What body is that. I'm usually not attracted to fiberglass but that one looks like it has history. Shit I wouldn't even paint it. Your garage looks almost as messy as mine. Just as it should be. A clean garage is a sign of a sick mind. But then we're all sick.

 

Theses traditional T bucket threads seem to take on a life of their own. I as wondering if Merle has gotten good info out of it and has any plans for his T project. Don't think we've heard form him since his first post.

Yep, you, FalconGeorge, Goober and myself tend to take the lead on T bucket stuff around here.

I'm pretty serious about doing the Frankenstien car you drew, with the exception of a chev 'tween the rails. I have this Almquist body with some history and that little flip on the back, and really want to do something that won't cover it up to much like a turtle deck or pickup bed would. I have the frame drawn up (3" round tube) and the rear suspension worked out so it will basically be invisable, just the axle and tank hanging out there. Unfortunately I have three projects ahead of it right now so it won't be until later this year at the earliest that I can get going on it.

 

You could go with a quarter eliptic as part of a straight or triangulated 4 bar.

Exaclty what I was thinking!

 

Funny, I hadn't even seen these posts last night, was looking at a bucket in a late sixties mag with 1/4 elliptics and a chromed Olds rear, and thinking "Hey, this is a good one for the t-bucket thread."

 

That's 'cause I just put them up this afternoon! A chromed Olds would be a bit big in my opinion, but I happen to have a Chrysler 8 3/4 with a nice smooth back. Or I could do a '46 banjo that I have. Not sure if the budget would ever include chroming the whole thing, but I'm thinking bright white frame, axles, and engine with chrome bits and pieces, and a pagan gold flake body. Weez's drawing had mismatched five spokes on the back and chrome reverse on the front. I have always dug that even though I no it's wrong, but mine will probably end up with polished five spokes that I saved from the earlier T bucket I posted.

 

Could use a '49-'56 Olds housing. Nothing wrong with the 8 3/4 either...

 

Whimbleton white would look good. Not as stark as pure white.

You can do some neat things with powder coating these days. I know it's not period but money-wise ......

My thoughts exactly youngster. Stark white looks too modern against an old color, and pearl white looks too "fussy" for me. By the way, if you have never seen the print I'm talking about, the front view of this car would very similar to the Weesner painting above.

 

You could borrow a custom trick from ol' George and use drawer pulls in the grill.
