Features traditional t bucket

hello, i just came across this forum in search for this exact color! can anyone please tell me what its called? i love the brightness of it.

i need the code to get it made at my paint shop.

 

i actually P.M.ed the owner of this car Lynn Bird with that exact question couple of years ago. It's a mid fifties Buick color code.

 

I think it's Gulf Turquiose. More on the blue side than the green side. Pretty.

 

Here are some Buick colors from 1956, kinda looks like Bedford Blue to me, but it is hard to tell from a chip.

I just went back and checked that P.M. from Lynn (ya, I save EVERYTHING!). He said he "color matched it from a mid fifties Buick color" Could be that Bedford Blue, but i wonder what looking at chips from '55 or even better '57 could do... Just thinking, one of the best turquoise colors I have ever seen is the '57 Chevy color, could they have used a slightly modified color for Buick?

Heres a picture of mine currently under going a front end rebuild with a bit more chrome and the flat orange being changed to a small metalfllake orange.

Car was originally built in the USA would really like to get hold of the original owner/builder if possible.

Hoping for a bit of sunshine this coming summer!

 

I'm diggin' Foam Green, Mist green, and Glacier Green too.

 

Anybody have anymore pics of this car? or info...frame? suspension parts? etc

All early "T" stuff like '17 - '21. Stock wheelbase frame, '28 - '34 front end stuff, Buick nailhead and if I remember right, it has an early Ford trans and rear end.... Simple, neat, featured in Hot Rod Mechanix about '89 or so. But, I do have to add that it is not a T-bucket...

Absolutely! As a matter of fact I have been collecting parts for a full fendered '23 for a long time that will be somewhat similar. I was kinda hoping that you would see something like this to think about for the other thread that you have had going about finding a complete "T".

 

Photo looks pretty good for Hot Rod Mechanix... Was it maybe American Rodder? I'll have to dig through some mags- I remember that T though, really cool!

 

Crap, for some reason my scanner stuff has all changed. I let my 12 year old nephew play a game on my computer and I'm just finding everything changed a week later...

Found that issue Weez HRMechanix 11/12 - '89. Can't resize the scan though. The little sucker killed my "picture loader wizzard" too. Even the Geeks at Best Buy couldn't find the body....

 

I'm not sure if you all will agree that this is an traditional build, but I think it represents the spirit of the Track T era.

 

That RPU looks closer to the Cambridge Blue to me, but I'm about half blind.

This ones for need louvers?. This thing is pretty cool. Dual headlights, blown olds, '49-'56 Olds rear on 1/4 elliptics, 16" americans with pie-crusts.

Always liked this one too. Another chromed '49-'56 Olds housing. There was just a thread on here a couple weeks ago where someone referred to these rears as "junk".

 

That's the ticket! I have the articles on the first one that Car Craft did in the mid sixties. If I'm not mistaken, I think the tank is under the floor on that one isn't it? I'm thinking the same, but shorten up the front segment a bit for whellbase of about 94 or 95" or so and use early Ford front and stuff. Just a hair earlier than this one. Ok, heres two photos. That is the filler neck in the first photo. Put your thinking cap on. I dont know if I would do this, but its REALLY thinking outside the box.

Its a really cool, innovative car, with a lot of neat ideas on it. Take a good look at the chassis as well, looks to be about 2" round main tubes, with the truss work welded to the bottom. Bet the car was REAL light for a blown olds, blower was 15% over (!!) Bet this thing flat out hauled ASS. Wonder whatever happened to the guy, if he ever built anything else? Or the car, for that matter. Wonder where it is now?

 

Just had a thought, I know Ted Brown, I should ask him if he knows anything about this car.

Nope, but knowing what was available as far as bias ply stuff back then I'd say they were L78X15 on the back and 5.60X15 Commandos. That was all that was out there then.

Some Ts I saw on my first trip to Bonn. '02 I think. Probably not quite on topic but still kool. I had to go through all of my rear suspension after my second trip there in '04 in the roadster. You just can't wash all the salt off.
