If this is too OT, get rid of it. Im going Monday to pick up my new HAMB friendly car, and I am taking my car trailer. The trouble is, I am trading my motorcycle for it and I am not sure the safest way to secure my bike to a flat-deck car trailer. There are plenty of places to strap it to, and I have plenty of straps, but nothing to secure the wheel in like a regular motorcycle trailer. Any ideas? I can just see it flying off the trailer on the interstate at 70 mph.... thanks
So, if you trailer is wood???????????? take some 2x4's and nail them in a C around the front and rear tire....................strap it down and you are golden. If the trailer top is metal, weld them/tac them so you can knock them off when the put the car up there................IMHO
The trailer deck is metal, and I am borrowing it. I dont think the owner would like me welding anything to it...if it was mine I would do it in a sec.
As long as you tie down the bike in an "X" pattern, from the rear corners and handlebars, then one more strap forward holding the wheel straight, it should be fine. You could add a strap straight back if you want double insurance. Ray
