Can anyone tell me where to find a shifter stub for a Mazda MR51? I recently had the transmission explode and anyway, the brilliant fellas that rebuilt it sent me the wrong stub, three times. They have sent me every variation, keyway on this side, bolt on the other, always wrong though. The tranny is out of a 98 Ford Explorer. I tried the dealer but the part is discontinued. If anyone has any info please let me know. Viola!
Oh, that subject has been covered many times - here. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44274
I am a lowly peasant working my way through college. I can't afford to buy some of the nicer things in life. I found a cheap way around getting a tranny that would fit in may car (29 A) and I took it. It was destroyed internally, just as you would expect an Explorer to do. I found a cheap way to get it reapaired, so I took it (and broke the single most important rule of engagement). Now, the brilliant fellas can't find the original one I sent.
top gun paraphrase, nice. still, dealers should have it, by law they have to stock parts going back 10 years. Thanks Ralph Nader.
