Tranny help?

OK. I finally got my car on the road. 32 roadster 383 w450 hp th350 trans.2200 stall converter. The tranny is brand new from tci. Here's the problem. When I put it into gear it clanks pretty hard, sounds like someone is hitting it with a hammer. When it's under no load it clanks. Idon't know much about automatic trannys but even I know this can't be good. Any ideas?. when I call tci I get a different story depending on who I talk to.

 

call tci again and start noting time and person. better yet tell them your recording the call.

 

Are your flex plate bolts good and tight?

 

^^^^ And did you check the u-joints ?? maybe have some slop in the rear axle?? ^^^^
