Tranny Question on a 53 Buick with a Straight 8

This guy I know dropped off a 53 Buick with a straight 8 (overhead valve) and wanted me to help him put in a 350/350 combo.

The thing is, the motor runs great, but the tranny is shot. What tranny options are there for a Straight 8 motor?

Will a Turbo 400 for a nailhead bolt to it, or do you just have to get a Turbo 350 and put the adapter kit on it? If that is the case, who has the best deals on adaptors?

Definately an adapter, or another straight 8 trans.
