OK. Who makes a trans adapter to mate a Ford T-5 trans to a 8-BA flathead? NOT a GM-T-5 trans. Also, what's with that rear mount being on an angle? How did you work around that? Just make a wedge shaped piece?
Search for the Ultimate T5 thread. I think Flat Erie did it. I think there is a compnay in Australia or maybe New Zeland that makes the bell housing you are looking for. Here's the Ultimate T5 Thread link http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171291
Tommy - does that work with late-model Mustang T5 or is that the '65-8? Ford bolt pattern? Looks like the latter (like a Toploader would bolt to it)... I seem to recall av8 using one of those & then the little adapter plate between it & the Mustang T5 he used. To the original question, you mention you have an angled mount which I'm ***uming is the trans mount pad on the tailshaft. Does this mean you're using a '93-up Camaro/Firebird T5?? Yes, you can fabricate a wedge-shaped adapter if you retain that tailhousing. Besides the tech piece I did, there's lots more info (including Ford T5 to 8BA steel bellhousing) here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=169265
Yes, it's a 93 Mustang trans and I want to hook it up to the Merc cast iron bell housing with the cross shaft style throwout bearing fork. Thanks for your replies.
Then your trans mounting pad shouldn't be angled. The only angled mounting pads are on ******s originally used in F-body (Camaro/Firebird)...unless your tailshaft has been swapped...
