I aquired a adapter with nc-31 on it. Now Ive found some info on here on these that it is made by trans-dapt and for a early chrysler, but nothing on what he 31 means. What tranny bolts to this? It had another home made plate bolted to it, I guess an adapter on a adapter. Any help
I have one of those also. It's early hemi 54-58 to Buick and pontiac trans 1935-55. I think the trans is the hard part to find...
Unfortunately, it's an adapter that won't do you much good. Even if you did find a transmission to bolt to it, it will most likely be one of those strange "selector" three speeds, and even a stock hemi would shell it like a walnut the first time you horsed on it.
Thanks for the reply, but does anyone use this adapter? Or is it more just a cool piece to hang on a wall?
Nevermind, I see yu answered my question. To bad, can it be re drilled for another trans? I'm going to assume not. It came with a n.o.s. In the box Ansen posi-shift for a 39-54 Pontiac so I should have figured that's what went in the middle. It's one crazy looking shifter the way it changes gears. Thanks for the help, I guess I'll hang it on the wall.
I am going to adapt mine to use a chrysler A833 trans by making an aluminum plate to bolt to the back of the adapter.
