I was replacing my transmission rear housing seal. I had a seal puller with the hooks, I got those out fine. I got the outer seal off also just fine. but I noticed when I was trying to get the outer seal out. my hook had nicked the trans output shaft bearing. Seems to be a little damaged from the hook on the output shaft bearing. Getting that bearing out and replacing that how hard is that? Is that something that a ****** shop will have to do? Is that something I can do? what should I do? Im a little concerned right now.

if its the bushing thats right in behinde the output shaft seal . that looks like copper . theres a special tool to take it out . any trany shop has them . if they get worn or damaged they will cause the seal to leak. ask around there are several guys that work at home that can take that out for you .

no its the output shaft bearing. I got out all the other seals its the output shaft bearing that was nicked. Im just concerned about that. I got it all back together. whats the worst that can happen to that bearing? I called a ****** shop and they said that that bearing needs to be pressed in.

well, if it is a nick it can roar and will most likely get worse and fill the trans full of shavings . which in turn will cause more brgs and possibly gears to go bad . its better to do it now then to wait . you might be lucky and nothing more happen but not likely.
