1954 ford mainline 302/c4 swap. ok so i finally got the original six and 3 speed standard pulled out. as far as the transmission goes, what kind of linkage and wiring am i looking at? gonna go witha floor shifter so that would negate the column stuff i guess but just incase i wanted to ask anyways. so what will i need?
I am staying with Merc column shift, had a cable setup, but didn't really like it. looking for linkage that works. An early mustang floor shifter work if you are going that route. If you have dual exhaust, that makes it even harder to keep column shift
i was planning on doing the dual exhaust too. so look for an early mustang floor shifter then. what about wiring for the reverse lights and all that? mine were cut and i dont know color scheme.

If you have a local swap meet B&M shifters might show up these use a simple two wire mini-switch for the back up lights.
I believe that the C4 used up to the 70's has a provision for a neutral safety switch on the side of the trans. that also operates the back up lights. It has 4 wires. Hope this helps.
