sbc 350/th350 in 65 chevelle. plan on running cooler infront of rad, question is would it be better to run threw rad first (like a pre cooling) then the cooler or just run strait to the cooler? Also how well would the cooler work mounted under the car i have the square style not the long tube style.

I'm no expert, but I've always run the cooler in front and byp***ed the radiator altogether and it's been fine. I've read to go through the radiator then into the external cooler is better. Not sure about mounting it underneath. I'm sure somebody with more experience with it will chime in.

We have two different TH400's running just a square cooler under the frame, mounted at an angle to catch a breeze. Both behind 472 Cad motors with no problems, one has been running for over 10 years that way.

I think you'd be better off having it in front of the radiator as opposed to under the car. I think it would have better protection, and a better air flow. People have told me not to byp*** the radiator ****** cooler, but keep it in line as a secondary cooler.....but my Nissan truck that I've been driving every day for about four years has had the ****** cooler byp***ed and I haven't had any trouble.
