I'm gathering up parts for my new trike build. I have a 153 and a 181 mercruiser engine. I want to use a Chevy 350 transmission. Will a auto flex plate bolt up to the crank, if so what year do I look for? The 153 is a 64 and the 181 is a 75. I read all the post I can find and it seams like everyone uses a manual.

should bolt up... look at the back of the engine, see if looks like this, as far as the block bellhousing shape, and the crank flange. If it does, then you're good.

The flex plate needs to match the starter, and that might depend on what holes are drilled in the block. Take some up looking pictures of the flange at the back of the block...we should be able to figure it out.
