I have the opportunity to buy this 1950 trans from a meteor. Was hoping someone could identify the trans and tell me if it will bolt to the back of my 1951 flathead that currently has a truck trans on it or will I need a new bell housing? Thank you.

With the correct bellhousing, I believe it would. Personally, if you want to go with a 3 speed and open drive, I would be looking for an overdrive trans

Look at http://www.vanpeltsales.com/ for the years to be sure. I'm not an 8ba guy, but i believe any ford or mercury in the 49 to 53 range is gonna fit. they are not that rare, and I like the "highway gear" at the top.
