I have a th400 trans that lost park and reverse while setting. This is a new rebuild. It is in my Frankenhearse. Any ideas of where I should look? Rather frustrating.

If this is a "new" rebuild I'd have the receipt in hand and contact the rebuilder before tearing into it yourself. Did you or the rebuilder install it?

The rooster comb might have come off the selector shaft.

Sound like the linkage isn't going far enough to get to Park and Reverse. That's the first thing I would check.

Try removing your linkage and see if you can shift it all the way into Park.

I’d follow up with this as a fresh rebuild, did you or someone else rebuild it? Context is a lot and if someone else did it. The first thing I’d do is go back to them before I messed with it myself. If it was paid to be done. Installation is also key, I’ve dealt with many of companies that on personal install or professional account makes a big difference.
