I'm rebuilding a GM OD auto trans (700R4). I purchased a Deluxe kit from Monster as well as their 'School of Shift' DVD. This kit raises the pressure to 230+ and improves the shift characteristics by firming up the shifts.

The original pump was a seven vane. Monster uses a 10 vane (not included in my kit). I find 10 vane and 13 vane pumps on ebay. Is one any better than the other?

It seems like a 13 vane may smooth out any pressure fluctuations possibly. It may be a little weaker than the 10 vane since the vane channels are closer together. I hear it has been used in quite a few of GMs late model offerings. What has been your experience?
