Hi I removed the 3 speed transmission from the bell housing last night and it was quite a fight i had to pry around it to separate them this trans and motor are out of the truck ,should it be this hard? When I put a new (freshened ) motor 239 into another truck It slid out like ****er! I am wondering what kind of a fight I will have sliding the new transmission into place with the motor in the truck I know your not supposed to put oil near the clutch but can I put a little in the female end of the spline. Again should it be that tough.
    Thanks

  2. Pull the clutch and check the disc spline and the pilot bearing.

  3. They can get that way,
old build up in the input shaft's clutch splines, corrosion on the bell housing alignment bushing.
