I suspect he's across the pond.

  3. Looks like some major-league cobbling went on there...

  4. @Kricks56 It looks like the engine and trans have been mounted too high and too far to the rear in your truck. Post pictures of the engine bay and the engine mounts, trans mounts, etc. That will give more info for the sleuths on this site to help you out.

The Ford Type 9 Gearbox is from the Ford Sierra 2.0 SOHC

    upload_2022-6-3_18-28-11.png

The OP's trans is a 5 speed Ford Sierra Box .
I've played around with a few of them [with a Quaiffe dogbox ge****t]

With the Quaiffe kit they can handle 250hp on a good day
    Normally 150hp will break them

The Sierra Cosworth's used a BW T5 gearbox
The Type 9 box is a good conversion in Ford ******'s and Cortina's

  6. I agree but it don't mean you have to throw it all out and start over. There's some pretty sound help on the Horizon here.

Not trying to be chauvinistic here, but from the way you worded the question above, its apparent that you are not as experienced as many others who frequent this site. This is not meant as a "slight" to you, but an honest observation. There is no mention as to whether the eng/trans actually work or if they are just "somewhat" installed and not really in any working condition. There are a bunch of problems that need to be resolved. Its probably not the original engine because there would have been no need/reason to cut the floor to install the original one. If you don't personally have the tools and experience to correct all this, its going to become a real money pit to pay for work. Not saying you can't do it, but most of us had some free help as we learned......and ac***ulated needed tools.
My suggestion is to remove the engine and trans and get something that fits the engine compartment better. Possibly something with an automatic transmission so you don't have worry about the clutch linkage.
Depending on what skills you have, it might be better to resell the truck and look for a better starting point on another project. Often a cheap purchase will cost way more in the long run. Glad to see your interest in the hobby, so don't get discouraged. Lots of us have resold projects and moved to something better.:)

    Where are you located?

Many of us here suspect that you are not in the US, and while that is totally fine, it will have some affect on the answers that we give you, in regards to parts availability.

The reason why is that transmission, be it a 4-speed, or a 5-speed, only came in one car in the US as a 4-speed (Ford Capri), and two cars in the US as a 5-speed (Merkur XR4Ti, Merkur Scorpio, both rebadged Ford Sierra variants). Neither was sold in particular high numbers. Each would be thin-on-the-ground here, if they can be found at all.

I showed the pics to my '55 F100, and told him, "You'd better behave, or out comes that tire smokin' screamer. And in can go an economical '6', with an ill-fitting minicar ****** as pictured here!"
It then started with 1 second crank time.

If I remember correctly, the SR-4 had a cast aluminum top cover, unlike the stamped steel on on the transmission that the OP has.

It is a English / German Ford Sierra "Type 9" 5-speed gearbox [very common here in NZ]
Have a good look at this [below] and compare with the original photos

Certainly looks like a type 9. There are conversions which places the shifter just behind the top cover plate, therefore perfect placement in the pics provided. Not sure of the source of these but look to be for transplants into the likes of Lotuses (Lotii??). No idea of costings and whether there's a backyard solution as a substantial casting (non factory?) looks to be involved. Arguably irrelevant if the op has vanished?

  18. Any idea how difficult it is for a Female to walk into our 99% Male web site knowing she has a little issue and ask for help?

    That's a pretty ***ist ***umption/***essment.
She did it, she asked. Was asked for more information and pictures. Everyone was helpful.
Asking for help and just disappearing is just bad manners, and from my observation, both men and women come here and do the same thing.

I had no idea until it was mentioned.

People ask for help, where able, I give help.

Everything else is none of my business.

The OP's avatar. And her profile says 'female.'
    That'll do it for me.;)
Would be nice, but as you know, we are awaiting further necessary and requested information.

Possibly, although I often post at all odd hours.

And I meant no offense. I don't often check people's profiles. This place is dude-dominant, and I guessed wrong.
