I'll try and find the Truckin' or Mini Truckin' magazine, from the mid 80's, that had an ad for caps similar to these. But if I remember correct the ones in that magazine were basically translucent Moon discs. Just not made by Moon.
Yeah, and how about an 80's flashback: That freaky chick singer in the band "Missing Persons" who always wore the plastic ***ty covers.
Vaccuum form a liner for the rim/hub, glue it to the back of the cap, and you could make snow globes out of them. Then show them to the guys who have those spinner things on their wheels. You'll be able to retire in a year or so. We'll all hate you for producing them, but you can laugh all the way to the bank.
DUDE......I have to get a set of those. I would even repaint my truck to match whaterver color I get.
WOW!! Those would look way cool on a Chevy Luv...I wish I had a LUV!!! With a big goofy 'gl*** topper with bubble windows, and pop out sun rooves...And a painting of Custar's Last Stand, but with John Wayne instead of Custar......And then cut out the back of the cab so it p***es into the box, and line everything with ****, crushed velvet, and paneling...Toss on a set of wide Cragars, and stick those covers over the Cragars.... Haha...I love how 1 random part can trigger an entire imaginary build in my head.... And when it's all done I can make a fake 70's Truckin' Mag with my amazing creation in it.....
Just make sure when you make the snow-globe ones, to put big warning stickers on them to not drain the snow stuff out and put goldfish in them instead. Unless it's a show car that only rolls on and off a trailer.
They didn't last back the and they didn't last in the 80's either. LOL. I forgot about looking for the magazine with similar ones in it until I started listing my old Truckin mags for sale. Than I ran across the ad. I googles the companies phone number and they appear to still be in business. Maybe they still have a set of this sitting around in a warehouse somewhere?
A couple times I made clear wheels for displays, but I wouldn't feel very good about driving on them.
I have lived in the general area for a long time and for years ***umed Ypsilanti was an Indian word. It turns the town was named after Demetrius Ypsilanti, a Greek war hero who died in the early 1800s.
