trany mount help

    i want to put a turbo 400 in my hot rod it has a stick with the bellhousing mounts , my motor is mounted up front so my question is has anybody mounted the trany on the rear mount with out brakeing the trany

    Yes you see it all the time, it works. But I don't build cars that way!!! Look it over. the front mounts are like 10 inches apart the back mount is like a single mount. If you never do burn outs, or take it to the local drag strip and drive like an old lady it will work fine

    Looks like you have a hurst style mount!! is this your project car?? More better!!

    it is on bbc in a f100 frame i gess i could put a mid mount in it
     
  4. Maybe since you have the engine mounted now add side mounts then remove your front mounts. Then it will be less likely to break. Lots of tri 5 car had the engine mounted front and tail shaft. The engine torques to one side even in a regular start. Best do something different.

  6. I have but it is not a good idea, easy to build mid mounts for it and you can drive with piece of mind. OH and don't float the tail shaft that is a heavy pig (I run 'em all the time) you will still need to run a tail shaft mount.

    i gess the best way of doing it is to put a mid mount in it and do it right the first time
