I just picked up a 55 Pontiac 2dr. I really didn't look at it much before I bought. After it was delivered and unloaded, it was leaning towards the front passenger side. So the A-arm is rotted and the spring is inside the car. Would these A-arms be the same as other tri-5 G.M.'s? My dad suggested make my own spring pocket, if there's enough metal left. If, I go making my own pocket, I would be able to make new pockets for both sides and lower it at same time. Any
    suggestion?

I do seem to recall that the Ponchos ran the same suspension parts as the Chevy from '55-'57.

the pontiacs used the same a-arms 55-57, they still used kingpins. i have a couple of parts cars and the springs went through the a-arms on them also

Oval track suppliers such as UB Machine http://www.ubmachine.com/ and Speedway Motors have adjustable spring buckets and tubular A- arms that you could use to update the current frame.

I think they are the same as on my 53. they have the old knuckle style upper and lower joints instead of ball joints. But if I remember right..... Oldsmobile may be the same...?

according to moog, the 53-57 pontiac front ends are mostly the same, and they're mostly the same as the mid 50s olds front ends, although upper inner shafts are different for some.
