  7. Kinda what I figured.
Seller said the length was good but the ends were made different.
Maybe we just didn’t understand each other.

are you talking about the front door? I can’t look up trim in Hollander but the front doors themselves are the same for a wagon and a sedan

  9. Yep. When I told the guy mine was a wagon he said the sedan trim was different.
I guess my ignorant self should have just went and looked at one of the dozens of sedans there.

    ;)

Like the 57 FI motor for $12K. Early 57 unit. If it is fresh and it has a 905 dist it's a fair price. If air cleaner and fuel filter are orig and block is an EL block then a good price if engine fresh. Sold an orig air cleaner a few years back for $4K and a fuel filter and bracket for $2K.
    I'm betting it sells.

The right hand drive 57 has prompted a long unknown question. . . . .
Is the transmission shift pattern the same on right hand drive cars as left hand drive cars? I understand this should be a column shift but I've always wondered

what about the pedals? Do you operate the gas pedal with your left foot and clutch with the right?

Pedals stay the same. Gas on right, clutch on left.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to pick it up. My first time driving a right hand drive manual car (it was actually a truck) I had it down in 10 minutes. You should try it if you ever get a chance. It's pretty fun.

Hey Anthony, front door beltline moulding is the same 1955 - 57 210 4dr sedan or wagon (LH = RH). GM # 4643355. Thanks for the photo's, some really nice cars there. Cheers, Arnold.

I was lead to believe that all Aussie tri 5's were 4 doors and had '55 dash.

99% correct. I think you could have ordered whatever you wanted (convertible etc) if you were willing to pay for it, and wait for it. The vast majority of tri fives sold here were essentially 210 series, 4 dr sedans, 6cyl, manual trans. New Zealand got 150 series in '55, Belair in '56 & '57 to the best of my knowledge, and yes, all the Aussie cars had the '55-'56 style dash, also leather seats, '56 had the nose cut off the hood bird as it was deemed to be too dangerous if you hit a pedestrian. Yes, the nanny state originated earlier than most people think!
