"Man ,findin' that is better than a weekend with Pamela Anderson."
"Pamela Anderson would only last for 10 seconds, :D I imagine he'll have the car alot longer."

It's a cool car to say the least but I still think it would be a very close second to a weekend with Pam. I'm sure she would last the whole weekend too...

UNREAL man. it was surely ment to be.

i'm jelous, as i'm sure evryone else is. i've been wanting to build a 55 2 door post gasser style for some time. also with a 409. found a nice solid one the other day, with no motor or trans, for $6500. i was'nt even lookin eaither. just saw it sittin at a used car lot, out of the corner of my eye, as i drive past. naturaly i turned around for a closer look and snapped some pics.

  3. Yea, this is really a cool deal... and I STILL can't believe it's mine and sitting in my garage!

This car will have a definate street racer/drag racer feel to it.

I know a lot of people like the 301, 292... motors... but, I want this car to haul ASS... I mean, REALLY haul ass... so, it'll get a BBC and a 4 speed.

The era for the car really is the mid to late 60's... and nothing will be spoiled by putting glass in it along with a bench and back seat...

A run-down is: polished M/T valve covers... tunnel ram... white painted headers... red engine... detailed to the max... I'll paint it BLACK... and run 15 x 4" and 15 x 8.5" (maybe magnesium) Americans... polished outer lips... mauve or goldish painted centers... chrome CA bumper in the rear, nosed hood, remove the Chevrolet emblems from the fenders... run the trunk handle n the back... new green-tint glass, new rubber all around... four speed stick handle poking up through the floor, white 4spd Hurst knob (I'd like to find a good, used original)... black painted dash, adobe beige cove, stewart warner gauges in the dash... radio delete plate in place... chrome window mouldings... and... hehehe... a chrome glove box door... the interior will be done in black naugahide, in a waffle pattern that was popular in the late 60's... the headliner will be done in that material that has little holes in it... loop carpet... on the floor and on the bottom of the door panels... oh, and I'll put the original to the car, and in very good condition... Sun tach back up on the dash where it belongs...

    Drool...

    Sam.
p.s. For now, we might throw the injected 292 out of the digger in it and run it as-is... just for fun.

    Sam.

C'mon, man- it couldn't cost that much in fuel........

Nice score. My Dad still has his '55 2dr that my great grandmother bought new & gave to him when she bought her new '67 Chevelle. I'd kill for it.

  10. Thanks a lot Sam. I thought I had 55 chevs out of my system. I had 8 1955-56 chevs from 66 to the early 80's. Nomads, etc. I never did have a 55 with cut out wheel wells although I lusted after one. I think I need a cold shower. Fordnutz.

    of course tri-fives RULE!!!!
best chevys everymade in my opinion...

my dad has had about 20 tri-fives over his years .....in my teen years dad restored a matador red and ivory white 56 nomad,,he gets sick when he thinks about how cheap he sold it compared to todays prices on nomads,,haha at the same time he had a super clean robins egg blue and white 4 dr belair and i had my 57 4 dr wagon..

the 2dr post is my favorite body style in '55 and your street racer thing makes it even COOLER!
there was a pretty acurate "clone" of two-lane blacktop at bowling green,,i dont guess anybody got a pic of it since they were too busy taking pics of the black primmered cars! HAHAA :D

    cool score and good luck.

  20. Very kool story and a neat car! 55 Chevs are the ultimate gasser! Had my share of Tri-fives back in the day; would like to have another one someday. Your story makes me want one even more, good luck with it.

  21. Sam ..., I almost "SHIT" myself...!!!!!! 31 years ago I had bought a Yellow 55' with a straight front axle and was powered by a Tri-carbed Poncho 389 4 speed...!!!!

But mine was a BellAire hdtp.........!!! (Heavier than the fast 150's)

Amazing how that particular "LOOK" just simply says "BAD ASS"...!!!

Love it and I look foreward to seeing it at MOKAN...!!!!!!!!

    Sam,

There was a primer black 55 chevy 210 post at Back to the Fifties this year, that was done gasser style and had a "KILLER" 409/4speed in it. it litterly shook the ground when it ran. it was a little rough, had a super flaked green dash in it.

    i loved that car.

i personally have a 56 210 2door handyman wagon that im gonna do kinda watson paneled/scaloped with bellflowers.

looks like alot of fun man, grats on finding the car.

That kinda reminds me of a car that run's/ran here at a local 'short' track.
It's been a while since i've been there so i don't know if he's still racing.
Anyway, it was a 55 post, cut quarter's, flat black with crude flames. it was called "the Energizer".
The car was fairly quick, ran a small cube sbc..
But what made the car rerally cool was his tow vehicle.
That was a black primer 55 2 door hard top.

It was really a awesome sight to see him roll in the pit's with those two..
Sorry for straying of track..it's just something thats alway's stuck in my mind.
