Sometimes it pays off to see the sights and one guy is “doing his own thing.” In a field of blacks, greys and white cars ever so prevalent these days, one guy did his own thing. A bright yellow 1957 Chevy 2 door post sedan in a downtown street, just like it was in 1957. If you forget the abundance of odd shaped cars parked on the same street.

The shoe store in front of the 57 yellow Chevy sedan was opened in 1953, so this scene could also have been played out 66 years ago.

The handy modern times called for the quick thinking driving partner in the next seat that was fiddling with her Iphone and looked up to see the yellow sedan in a field of grey/white/black. She knows old cars and has a keen eye for photos that please my tastes, too. So, despite being an Iphone, the image was nice for such a quick thinking moment.

It was a fast “one and done” photo. She was so happy it came out not blurry, but said if I wanted to go around the block, we could come back for more detailed photos with my own digital camera. It was a moment not to be questioned for a great photo… we kept driving. The photo action spoke for itself. We would see this car sometime in the future as it cruises the coastal cities on one of its road trips to the beach areas. YRMV

Note:
Perhaps it was on the same street last Saturday, when the whole main drag leading to the ocean was closed for its annual car show...
