Features tri five chevys lets see em"

  1. I've seen the first photo a few different times, but I don't think the second. Certain photos like the first one draw me in like a moth to a flame.... Is there ain interesting backstory or current story on that blue, rustic Nomad?

  16. what may be lost in translation on that photo is that appears to be the 50th Millionth commerative Chevrolet which had all GOLD-plated shiny bits, which is probably what is on that table

But yet, there is another photo of the body being lowered on to the chassis, with all of the "jewelry" on it.

  19. It is puzzling, and hard to know what GM may have done in the pursuit of photo-ops. I didn't include in my last post, that I remember some number of years ago hearing or reading there was two complete sets of the gold-plated trim produced for the car. I'm not sure I ever heard an explanation for the 2nd set, but my imagination conjured up that since the car was displayed at various public events for a period of time, was it perhaps a hedge against theft or damage?

The morning after an F-1 ( back in the early 80’s we didn’t have the fancy EF ratings) tornado decided to remove the muffler shop from around my ‘56. We ran out to shelter just before all hell broke loose. The storm sideswiped us, as the path was just about a hundred yards to the west of us.

42 years later, I still have a healthy respect for Mother Nature.
