  3. If it's the same car, IIRC, I believe it was built by a guy named Jerry Covill (sp?). The car club I used to belong to invited him (from California?) to our '05 show in Issaquah, WA where he displayed the car. My memory is he started out with a '57 4dr. He and a business partner first built a car like that in a 2dr HT example. When they went their separate ways, IIRC, his former business partner ended up with the 2dr HT, so... Jerry decided to build the convertible example from a 4-dr sedan husk using the lessons learned from the HT build.

sidenote: I think I've offered that summary a time or two in some past threads here on the HAMB, but I'm to lazy to go looking for them just now.

I was too busy picking apart the build I missed that. I’ll say bye bye in advance.

  6. Maybe the original poster can offer edited photos with the wheels blacked out to keep the continuity, or perhaps the past 4-5 posts will get the MIB treatment

The '55 front end goes perfectly with the basic simplicity of the rest of a ''55. '56 & 7 grew grander fins and had the trim to match. That car is a mish mash.

  16. Not sure if it's lost in translation, but that was the point of the two builds - to blend elements from all three years to create the physical incarnation of a 'tri-five'.
