Love the 210 hardtops! You just don't see many and I'm pretty sure they were a 56-57 only thing.

Nice car, like the garage shack too.
    55 also had 210 hardtops.
the 56 and 57 only was for four door hardtops.

I like the fact that it's still an A-arm car with those headers and Cragars!

Update: Steve and I exchanged PMs about his car. I was certain it was the same '56 hdtp. I had seen as a kid in Richmond (SF East Bay) back in the mid-70s and a couple of my friends back in the old 'hood thought so too. Well, it turns out that Steve's car was one of TWO basically identical '56 hardtops that ran around town in those days! TWO! What are the chances of that, especially back then?

    Thanks, all!

A little bit more on the gas station. The little station sat on Aurora Ave in N. Seattle for many, many years before it was moved into the woods an hour south of Seattle, where it sat for many years. He and his wife came across it shortly before it was supposed to be rolled into a burn pile. They brought it home, and friends donated much of the signage and pumps, you see.

I'm a big fan of the 210 HT's. A little 210 HT trivia... I'm to understand, the 210 HT was cancelled halfway through the '53 model year, skipped the '54 model year and was reintroduced in the latter half of the '55 model year. It stuck around through the '56 and '57 model year. 210 HT's are sometimes disguised as Belair HT's because in their past, someone may have upgraded the trim to the seemingly more fashionable/popular Belair models. Just before I bought my 210 HT, I passed up buying a sweet unrestored '55 210 HT. Wish I had the chance again...

One more piece of trivia... Among the few 210 HT owners I know, they have been occasionally accused by 'know-it-alls' at car shows of faking either a 2dr or 4dr 210 HT. The 'know-it-alls' claim Chevy never made any 210 HT's and we/they are trying to trick people...

I've been a 210 HT fan for a long time, cuz my dad had a '56 210 HT when I was born in '63. He sold it a few years later. Truth be told, I don't remember that car. But I've been a car crazy kid my whole life and particularly drawn to the '56's, so my dad's car must have left it's mark on me, somehow... Actually, because of that car, I almost wasn't born. Late in mom's pregnancy with me, dad made a left hand turn, and mom's door flew open. Dad had to grab her by the wrist to keep her from sliding off the tuck-n-roll interior, and out into the street.

Here is the only photo I have of my dad's 'chinese red' w/ TJ black&white tuck&roll interior, 210 HT. The caps are '58 chev. The photo is from '59 somewhere around Novato, CA. My dad sold the car in Portland, OR in late '65, early '66.

  21. We picked this Nomad up in September. I've wanted a 55 Nomad since I was a kid.
